Mother Nature

Ri first began developing the show when she was an Associate Artist at MAST Mayflower Studios, Southampton between August 2023 and April 2025.

An R&D of the show, supported by Arts Council England and MAST, ran from January-March 2025, bringing together a diverse cast of creatives, collaborators and Hampshire residents to develop the project.

The R&D culminated in a live sharing of the project, to a sold-out Studio 2 at MAST on 19th March 2025.

Call Me, Mother Nature is a musical-comedy theatre show about climate change, drawing on the disruptive nature of climate change to make a fun, anarchic and innovative show celebrating the power of community.

Drag ‘n’ Drop!

The show began its development in June-July 2023, with the support of Arts Council England and Pride In Stem. Ri worked with G(end)er Swap to support aspiring drag performers to develop a new character, and to enquire into the shows themes of gender, identity, and quantum theory. Running creative sessions with 6 LGBTQIA+ youth groups across Hampshire and in Bristol, Ri worked with young LGBTQIA+ folks to develop the show’s script and key themes, weaving their thoughts and ideas into the show.

Drag ‘n’ Drop! toured the UK between November 2023 and March 2024, with funding support throughout March 2024 from Arts Council England. The tour featured sell-out shows in Bristol and at London’s Science Museum, and culminated in a special science and arts day, on Trans Day of Visibility 31st March 2024, bringing together trans+ scientists and performers to celebrate visibility across the science and arts fields.

Drag ‘n’ Drop! is a one-woman musical-comedy drag theatre show about quantum physics and gender identity. Set in an imagined future where gender has been outlawed, Dragona Budjet (“it’s pronounced bou-jzay, m’kay?!”) is one half of high-energy drag removals company, Drag ‘n’ Drop! In a show that is somewhere between Waiting for Godot, Drag Race and INSIDE by Bo Burnham, Dragona guides us through some of the universe’s biggest questions: if a drag queen falls in a forest, will her makeup survive? How do we find meaning, in a society that wants to limit everything, in a quantum universe that seems to have no rules? And where the hell is Drop?
